The Cafe

As some of you know who fish the lake our plans have been put forward for application of a onsite cafe.

This will not only benefit anglers but also people of the local area. it will provide clean flushing toilets, an area we can teach youngsters and new comers to angling as well as a great location to come and grab some breakfast or lunch in beautiful surroundings.

Unfortunately, due to recent changes in the Parish Council the plans for our Cafe have been slowed down considerably...

At the moment, South Gloucestershire Council have approved plans for a building at the far end of the car park: this would not only service the lake and the playing fields with clean wheelchair friendly toilets and a place for refreshments for everybody using the facilities but would also provide a great asset for the local community.

However now a proposal has been made to move the cafe from the planned location. The new proposed location would be in the lower car park with no direct access to the lake and outside of the safe and secure confines of the lakes grounds. This has the potential to hinder all of the work we have been trying to achieve with disabled anglers and vulnerable adults and children!

We would ask for your support in the way of writing a comment to Westerleigh Parish Council via westerleighpc@btinternet.com with regards to this situation.

It's been along time promised and would be an amazing asset not only for the anglers but also the local community.

Thanks for you support Danielle & Terry Smith.
