My brother, his friend Luc Desbottes, Dan Shipp and I had a bit of a social at Bitterwell Lake. The conditions were good and we decided to set ourselves on the far bank as that was where the least pressure was and we'd have a nice easy cast to the aerator, the wooden platform and the Island.
My start was not the best... I had lost a carp as it was going straight towards me and I struggled to keep the line tight. After that I was cheered up by a massive bream probably around 3Ib. About half an hour later I got another bite and this time I got it in the net. It was a nice looking common around 4Ib.
I didn't know how good the session was going to get though... The session wore me out!
I had 12 carp and lost 2 or 3 which is really good! My brother had about 5 or 6 carp, Luc had about 3 or 4 and god knows how many Dan had... but after all, what do you expect? he's Des Shipps son!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my session at Bitterwell Lake - tight lines and wet nets!
